ELIPS Framework
ELIPS Framework is a highly-optimized and modular embedded platform enabling component-based software support. ELIPS Framework provides a Linux-like API on top of any embedded operating system (ARM7/ARM9) thus opening proprietary platforms to a large number of Linux applications developers. The component approach makes configuration of new handset designs fast, easy and robust. It gives the flexibility to introduce new services on a "service per service" basis.
Open-Plug’s embedded software framework which provides Linux-Like APIs to the MMI developers includes the following main blocs:
- ELIPS Engine in charge of software component management
- ELIPS CFA in charge of “flashing” components into Flash memory
- ELIPS Basic Services providing POSIX OS-like and Socket services to applications
- ELIPS Devices Services providing usual device related services such as back-light, keypads, … as well as connectivity services
- ELIPS Telephony providing a unified interface to developers for telephony services whatever the underlying platform is
- ELIPS Graphic Environment providing low-level graphic services (connection to hardware, overlay handling, …) as well as high-level services such as Widget and Theming
- ELIPS Application Management Services in charge of cross application management and resource sharing
- ELIPS Multi-Media Framework providing a complete and flexible Multi-Media environment for Audio, Music and Video
