This statement also indicates that section 3.3.1 of the iOS Developer Program Agreement has been modified. The new clause now states : “Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs.” Period. Applications created with ELIPS Studio abide to this clause without any doubt. You may recall from our earlier article on the subject that the language in the previous version of this clause left room for interpretation about its applicability to ELIPS Studio. While there was some ambiguity, it has always been our understanding that ELIPS Studio was not affected, as can be seen from the number of apps created with ELIPS Studio approved on the App Store. This is now officially confirmed by Apple. This is a very encouraging sign for us, since it recognises the value of cross-platform native applications development tools like ELIPS Studio. It is also a very good news for the mobile ecosystem at large and we hope will foster the development of even more innovative applications on iOS devices. |
